DIrtbag naturalist

Low Expectations
I do not have a goal or a plan or a message. This is simply a curation of the few things that bring me joy. Most not widely consumed or seen as typical, I'd say. I have had a great fucking time putting this together; it's already serving it's primary purpose. I don't feel pressure to refine it or perform. I hope you find it interesting, too.

BIOTOPES
Living, decomposing, and self-regulating ecosystems built from Ohio’s native species and wild-sourced materials. I reject sterile aesthetics in favor of something interesting: mosses establishing over hoof bones, mutli-species interactions, carrion beetles living inside of dessicated flesh. Each tank is its own situation, built to be alive and in flux at all times. Down to the microbes, mites, and fungi that most overlook. It’s a dirtbag naturalist lab where decay is featured, control is minimal, and the goal is to observe and appreciate rather than curate.

Current Projects
Every project here is real, active, and under construction. With my own hands, time, and obsession, I work on them as life and passion permit. Some still deep in the weeds, others are close to daylight. For now this is my workshop, it keeps the future and today tied closely together.

Album
I am still not entirely sure how I feel about this project, but I have enjoyed myself none the less. Utilzing tech to help create, write and refine music feels foreign after a life of traditional methods. I didn't want to use other peoples music and I have many songs and concepts I have been sitting on for some time.

In Production
The
Ohiotope
I'm bringing my vision for a massive, multi-ton biotope exhibiting plentiful native Ohio life. The first prototype is well underway, ultimately to culminate in an extremely overbuilt and feature rich 120 cubic foot biotope.

Animation
I have lived a lot of life and this is something I've always wanted to approach. We are currently rigging characters and developing the final scripting. Expected to begin publishing Q4 of 2025. Following the template of my shared experiences with my close friend and partner in this project, Rob.
